Basia Bańda was born in 1980. She graduated from the studio of Professor Jarosław Kozłowski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in 2006. She lives and works in Zielona Góra. Her artistic practice includes painting, drawing, collage, photography, sculpture and performance. In 2007 and 2009 she received a fellowship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. She currently teaches at the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Zielona Góra. Her work is featured in numerous public and private collections, including the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Warsaw; the National Museum, Gdansk; the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art, Cracow; the Labirynt Gallery, Lublin; and the ING Polish Art Foundation.
